ABOUT KAT WATERS

Kat has been involved in dance and sport from an early age, completing a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre at the Laban Centre, London in 2000

Introduced to yoga in a gym to supplement her dance training, formal study began much later with Jana Appleyard in London in 2006. Fortunate to be an apprentice of Jana’s, studying and practicing the Shadow Yoga method (created by Shandor Remete) for five years.

Learning and studying yoga ran alongside her career in sales, events management and project management. Delivering late scale projects for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games and the inaugural 2015 European Games, Baku, Azerbaijan. 

After taking a career break in 2013 on Gili Trawangan, Indonesia, as a PADI

Diving Instructor, yoga teacher and enjoying free-diving, Kat was drawn back to Indonesia where she completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali in 2015 with Zuna Yoga®. In 2016, Kat returned to her home town of Southsea, Portsmouth and started teaching full time. 

 

In addition to her Yoga Teacher Training, Kat is one of three Yoga Tune Up® and the Roll Model Method® practitioners and teachers in the UK, sharing this work to help heal and prevent injury.

 

Teachers who have inspired her and continue to do so include; Jana Appleyard, Shandor Remete, Everett Newell, Katherine Girling, Dineen Viggiano and Jill Miller.

 

Kat strives to share these self-care tools and strategies with everyone to become a more empowered being in this life. To live a happy, healthy, joyful life, to thrive and be a more powerful individual in the world.
